Bulgari Archives

"This clutch reminds me of vintage glamour. It's a timeless, elegant piece, which,
to me, is the essence of Bulgari." - Kirsten Dunst
Unbeknownst to us Coveteurs, the Bulgari's descend from
an ancient family of Greek silversmiths.
“Whether it's the pair of sunglasses I bought three years ago, the clutch I wore to the
SAG Awards this year, or the rose gold ring I wear almost every day, Bulgari pieces are
just as exciting to wear on the 100th time as they are on the very the first. I walk a little
taller when I'm wearing Bulgari. And that's why I'm always excited to see what
they're going to do next." - Jennifer Carpenter.
We can picture this bag being worn by a 1970's screen siren aboard
a yacht or on a current "It" girl rocking it on the red carpet.
Elizabeth Taylor discovered Bulgari in 1962 when she was working on
Cleopatra and fell in love with Richard Burton. Since then, she has worn
Bulgari on countless occasions. She used to say, "Undeniably, one
of the biggest advantages to working on Cleopatra is Bulgari's shop," and,
in fact, she used to visit our store in Via Condotti almost every afternoon.
Richard Burton recalled that the only Italian word Liz knew was "Bulgari." - Bulgari
Yellow gold, sapphires, emeralds and diamonds look as good on J.Lo as they did
on Julianne Moore when she wore this necklace in her campaign for Bulgari.
"For me calling at Bulgari's shop is like visiting the best
exhibition of contemporary art." - Andy Warhol
"This vintage Bulgari necklace was designed using cabochon amethysts and
brilliant-cut diamonds. The heart-shapred cabochon aquamarine is flanked
by rubies and baguette diamonds." - Bulgari
This 1980's necklace looks fresh and new. The use of colour and
shapes takes this amazing piece through any time period.
Oscar sideline! We had to... Ladies and gentleman... behold the earrings
that Madge wore when she performed at the 2012 Super Bowl.
Weighing in at 17.08 carats, we think they are the real winners of the night.
In the 1950's and 1960's, Bulgari’s bold and innovative style gained success
amongst the protagonists of the jet set and movie world. The brand thus achieved
international fame, which in the 1970's drove the first phase of the group’s
international expansion with the opening of overseas stores
in New York, Geneva, Montecarlo and Paris.
While always handsome, we think Benicio looks best in Bulgari.
In addition to two stores dedicated solely to accessories, the largest Bulgari store
in the world, the 11-storey, Ginza Tower was opened in Tokyo in 2007.
This ad campaign from the 1970's is an interpretation of the iconic snake motif.
It has eight gold serpent watches - three, of which have diamond dials.
Shipped to us all the way from the archives in Rome, this was one of the first evening
bags ever made by Bulgari. Handcrafted in 1963, it is made out of yellow gold and
decorated with 30 round brilliant cut diamonds and cabochon turquoises.

Created in 1972, the "Melone" evening bag has seen its fair share of red carpets.
Made out of 18 carat gold and sapphire, it has been worn by leading ladies like Charlize
Theron and Julianne Moore. Champagne and diamonds are optional, but highly encouraged.
"Elizabeth wore her favourite Bulgari pieces on the sets of her films.
She wore a pair of earrings with natural pearls and diamonds in the film,
"Ash Wednesday" where she acted with Henry Fonda." - Bulgari

"Fashion legend Diana Vreeland was such an admirer of the Serpenti
creations that she got a bespoke Serpenti belt in gold and
polychrome enamel with sapphires." - Bulgari
Who can forget this iconic red carpet look? This 3-D version
has Charlize dripping in pear cut diamonds.
For her 40th birthday in 1972, Elizabeth Taylor received a sautoir in platinum with sapphires
and diamonds and a sugar-loaf, cabochon Burmese sapphire of 65 carats. All we got is a card.

Bulgari celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2009. We love that they continue
to use strong independent women as the faces of the brand.
I love Bvlgari for its craftsmanship and timelessness.
